Miniature Washington's Cruisers Flag
This flag contained the words "Appeal To Heaven" which was a reference to the Americans going against a great military power, and a fervent belief they would be sustained by a greater power. The Washington Cruisers flag was used by George Washington on his squadron of six schooners in the fall of 1775. The pine tree pictured was one that the Sons of Liberty would rally under in Boston. It became known as the Liberty Tree.
