Qatar Flag

Qatar's flag has an unusual maroon color which stands for all the lives lost in battles over time, particularly the last half of the 19th century.  The white color symbolizes peace and harmony.  The nine-point saw toothed stripe represents the nation as the ninth member of the "resolved Emirates" of the Persian Gulf, following the end of the pact between Great Britain and Qatar in 1916.
