Guatemala Flag Meaning - Guatemala's courtesy or civil flag is a simple design of three stripes.  The sky blue stripes represent the fact that Guatemala is located between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  The white stripe stands for the purity of the country's values and its quest for eternal peace.  A government version of Guatemala's flag has a coat of arms with crossed rifles indicating Guatemala's willingness to defend itself by war if necessary while olive branches symbolize peace.
