Guam Flag Meaning - In the center of Guam's flag is the coat of arms, an almond shaped emblem, which depicts a boat sailing in Agana Bay near Hagatna.  Guam is spelled in bright red letters.  The shape of the emblem recalls the slingshot stones used by the early people of the island.  The flag of Guam was adopted in 1948.
