Miniature General Fremont Flag

This flag was carried by General John Fremont on his exploration of the far west during the 1840s.  It was designed and made by his wife, Jessie Benton Fremont, specifically for his expeditions.  The original flag is on display in the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles.

* Flag is four x six inches attached to ten inch black staff, topped with gilt spear

*Silk-like material sewn on all four sides
