Democratic Republic of the Congo


The country with the longest name, Democratic Republic of the Congo, adopted its flag on February 20, 2006.  Its flag has a blue background with a yellow star in the top left corner.  The flag is split diagonally by a red stripe bordered with a thin yellow frame.  Red represents the sacrifices of its soldiers and national heroes, yellow symbolizes the nation's wealth, the star is a symbol of hope and ambition.  The blue color represents harmony and peace.
