China Flag
The flag of China was officially adopted on October 1, 1949. The dominant red color of the flag symbolizes the communist revolution, it is also the traditional color of the people. The large gold star in the upper left quadrant represents communism, with the four smaller stars standing for the social classes of the people. Taken together the five stars reflect the importance placed on the number five in Chinese thought and history.
