Tanzania Flag
The Tanzania flag was officially adopted on June 30, 1964. It is a combination of former flags, Tanganyika and Zanzibar, and resulted when the two countries merged forming Tanzania. The blue of the Zanzibar flag and yellow stripes of the Tanganyika flag were combined and placed in equal proportions to highlight their equal status. Green is symbolic of the rich agricultural lands of Tanzania, yellow for the country's mineral riches, blue for the surrounding waters, black in the center represents the people of Tanzania.
