Dominica Flag Meaning - Dominica's flag features its national bird, the Sisserou Parrot.  The Sisserou is an endangered species, with very few remaining.  The green field represents the lush vegetation of the island.  The cross symbolizes the Trinity and Christian faith.  The three colors of the cross represent native Indians, the fertile soil and clean water.  The Dominica flag was adopted in 1978.
