Mozambique Flag

Mozambique's flag has a unique distinction - it is the only national flag to showcase a weapon.  Adopted in 1983, the weapon is shown to commemorate the fight for freedom.  Also shown are a hoe, for agriculture, and a book symbolizing the importance of education.  Green represents fertile ground, black for the African population and yellow for mineral wealth.
