The first official flag of the Confederacy, Stars and Bars is three x five feet, 100% durable nylon, designed to withstand damaging wind and sun effects. Finished with canvas heading and two solid brass grommets.
The original flag of the Confederacy, used from March 1861 until May 1863. The "stripes" are called "bars", but otherwise is similar to the Union flag. Each star represents one of the seven states to have seceded before the attack on Fort Sumter and Lincoln's response. The Stars and Bars was eventually replaced by the Confederate Battle Flag, first in the confederate army then throughout the Confederacy.
